I have a problem in my Fedora 7 system. Suspend stopped working and when I insert a DVD in the player I get a “Error org.freedesktop.Hal.PermissionDenied.” It all used to work. The only thing I remember doing in the configuration was to disable some services (nfs and Networkmanager, I think.)
What could be causing this? Everything works fine with root.

perlmonkey2, fastestmirror finds the FASTER mirrors, on average, since they’re closer.
i was getting 40kbps, hit cntrl-c twice and got one giving 10MBPS
but that has dropped down to ~1MBPS
