If you’re trying to set up a secondary rescue partition, I typically do that as a “/system2″, and just do a minimal Debian install into it.
~150 – 200 MB should be sufficient. Gives you a lot mroe tools than just a busybox system.

hrm. I installed gforge and now when I run ssh or use cvs over ssh it works but I also get output saying “Could not connect to database”. I thought this was explanied by “auth sufficient pam_pgsql.so #Added by GForge install” in /etc/pam.d/common-auth but after I removed that I still get the message

well, that apache.conf file in the wiki dir has the alias. just dont know if its a good way to do it. I think you would be better off doing something similar to what debian does to / by default, it uses an ^/$ rule rewrite to redirect you to /mediawiki.

well, i would say sgid disk the dvgrab rather than suid root it. either way it would have full access to the disk. or, if you really only use it for that one purpose, just edit the udev for it and set to to a group like video and add yourself a member, probably the best choice (not that your gonna root your own box or anything
sorry, umask more a generic. but i have strong feelings with making a dir wide open for every account on a box, nobody and www-data included

the geocoding is done through calls to the google maps api. its just what you pass to it.

i’ve got a text field with numeric data in it that i’d like to make sortable via views. in mysql if you do field+0 it’ll sort correctly. i’ve added a sort handler that modifies the query to do this. but users want to be able to use drupal’s table sort so i was going to add a field handler to do the same but it looks like it’s called for each value rather than once per field… any ideas on how i could modify the field definitio

You add them to your project by branch and then the system takes care of packaging them and keeping them up to date.

Nodequeue 2 has the ability to do this but it needs a version of smartqueue written for nodereference

nodequeue will do what you want AFAIK, but it’s only “one way” I think, i think you might be looking for something that works off taxonomy multiple hierarchy but with arbitrary ordering, in which case AFAIK nothing exists…

Smartqueue is a way of having queues tied to taxonomy terms. Basically, each term (or combination of terms if you select multiple vocabularies) gets its own queue; nodes that are tagged with that term are eligible to be added to that queue.

Guys, I just got blindsided. We’re writing a Drupal provisioning system, multisite, and our dev consultants just sent my ED a note explaining why Java is the best way to do this. I need to explain why this is a bad idea, why running a Java server is a pain in the butt, and why we should use PHP…except that I’m not programmer enough to have the arguments at my fingertips. Java is a great way to go if they want to build a one-off app whereby they, and only they, are working on bugs, optimizations, and new features. Why would anyone want to have access to hundreds of contributed projects that cost exactly nothing.
In fact, two of the last people I’ve worked with are FORMER java developers.

CVS’ing the latest HEAD is called “checking out” and not “downloading”, right?

Round it goes again. In #161107, Goba pointed out that we should be checking that the term is actually a forum term, otherwise we’re just duplicating another function for no reason.
Test with a non-forum term and make sure it 404s. It works like that on my end..

hey, I figured out how to get the browser-sent URL that I was talking about last night. Instead of using $_GET['q'], you have to use $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']. So the code is done and now uploaded as url_access.

Truncate all the cache_* tables in the database, and double check your settings.php.

so I made a ‘Node queue’ containing ‘Tracks’. Now, it seems I have one global Track-queue to which I can add or remove Tracks. To have one Track-queue per ‘Album’, I should use a ‘taxonomy queue’?

If albums are taxonomy, yes.
If albums aren’t taxonomy, then that’s where we get into the “a new version of smartqueue needs to be made” that does the same kind of automatic correllation.

at this point ‘Album’ is simply a content type and my albums are nodes of that type – though I guess I could consider albums to become taxonomies instead

Okay, need some help… Just did a fresh install of Fedora 7, /boot is in /dev/sdc1. Linux is installed into one LVM over sda, sdb, and sdc2. After POST, get “Error Loading OS”. I’ve done th fdisk and made /dev/sdc1 the only active “boot” partition. I’m currently in the rescue shell.

ok, so now that I got a solution, I have an idea… I could unplug my DVD player, and install the last drive on that port. When Highpoint fixes the issue, I can then move the last drive to the SATA add-on card, and plug in my drive… does this sound safe?

Fedora doesn’t include CDE (I don’t even think it’s still being developed, and I don’t think it was open source). You can try Xfce and see if you can find a CDE like theme.

i run kde, and using control center to fix up the login screen only works for kdm.

hey guys… got to “assemble” my raid array… one drive states…. “Disk /dev/sdd doesn’t contain a valid partition table”… this is a raid 5 array with 4 drives….

if it’s only one drive, mark as failed, remove from raid array, add to raid array and mark as active

gdmsetup took care of it.

Our server has fedora and plask, right now we are trying to get the DNS right but the servers can’ make up thier minds. afraid .org says the new server are taking over but my browser and ping have no caught up.
